Perspective Of Food Inc.

First of all i would like to say that I'm totally disgusted with the food administration and the way products are processed. Its a little scary knowing the harm and damage processed foods do the human body after each intake. This is just another problem added on to the pile of issues this country has already. farmers know the truth but can't tell anyone because of the administration policy and I feel like this country revolves around money instead of saving lives. People now and days are so selfish that they will sell you out for that extra dollar and its absurd i think. But there's rarely anyone can do to change food companies minds unless we work together and put up a protest of some sort to get a message out. most of my life i ate fairly well but there's times i admit to eating fast food because it was the only outlet to resource to. Even if you try to buy something healthy like a salad from Mcdonalds or Burger King, that salad is not any healthier. It just balances out with the rest of the food there. But as of this past year I've been trying to revert to organic and more healthier products but the cost is really expensive, something i don't understand as for fast food where you can get a burger for 99 cents. I thought the movie super size made realize the health concerns food contains but this movie definitely made an impact. The animals are not fed properly leaving room for sickness and diseases inside the animal then transfer into our bodies which is completely unacceptable and i disagree with they're production 100%. Although the food is tasty, people don't know what damage it's doing to them, making this more of a reason for the health department to step up and make changes. And even tho I'm in shape and workout regularly, it doesn't mean I have to run to mcdonalds and get a burger thinking i won't gain weight or get sick. There are many precautions that we don't take and are not aware of because nothing is said or advertised. But like our president Obama said "It's time for a change", We need to start committing to healthy food and eating properly so our lives are not effected in a dramatic way. Start now and never look back at that burger or processed food. Redirect yourself to another option like a fruit or a homemade salad or steamed vegetables. Rejuvenate your life and live happily with pride and ambition.

  1. You are right, eating healty can cost you an arm and a leg, but yet a burger is not even a full dollar. Cheap poison but expensive antidote.

  2. So true!. We need to start committing to healthy eating, its the only way to set an example for now especially for the younger people. It will be better if they start educating themselves from a young age because they will not be ignorant with the real deal from a start.

  3. After watching Food,Inc.,I was displead also with the government officials and how our food is processed. It is frightening to know how certain foods are processed with dangers of harm lurking in them. Yes,trying to eat organic foods can tax your wallet,I've experienced it first-hand. It's time for change.

  4. Like you, I also give in to fast food, due to cost and convenience. The disproportionate pricing is so unfair. One would think that the corporate money game would not envelope the food we eat but over the last 4 decades it clearly has. Whenever I feel McDonald's is tempting or the quick, easy way to have a filling meal, I need to think of this film.

  5. Brain you hit the nail on the head. It's all about the money. The government doesn't care about our health. That's why Kevin's Law hasn't been passed yet.

  6. Nice! I'd love to hear more about what kinds of protests you think people could have to effect changes!

@ W the W - love the expression "Cheap poison but expensive antidote."

  7. Food Inc and Super Size me both made an impact on me too. Both movies are really inspiring and both have interesting facts about the health of people who eat the fast food. And your right it is all about money, that's what it always been about with this industries and if we don't change our eating habits we are never going to make the change to better eating.

  8. Brian,
You make some really great points. I totally agree when you said " We need to start committing to a healthy life..." We can all do this by making conscience purchases in our markets and stores. In the movie Food Inc. when the CEO of Stonyfield Farms Yogurt company said " Every time you make a purchase in a store you are casting a vote." Basically saying you are casting a vote for the things you want to see more in your stores. If you want to see more healthy things in your market you must buy healthy things.

  9. Hey Brian,
I completely agree with you. I believe that after watching this movie, many of us became aware of the hidden danger of junk food and many of us will change eating habits.
